In the 2016 NFL draft, the Chargers selected Joey Bosa to sew up deficiencies on the defensive line. But is he ready to perform on this level?

If the Chargers were looking for a player to reek havoc in the trenches, Joey Bosa was undeniably their best choice in the 2016 NFL draft. Even after just a short video review featuring his collective highlights during the three seasons he spent at Ohio State University it is sensible to say that Bosa can be a success in the National Football league. As for the struggling San Diego Chargers defense, 21-year-old Bosa may have to be a dosage of relief this upcoming season.

So why is San Diego so reluctant and uneasy about finalizing his rookie contract? Perhaps Bosa and the Chargers organization aren’t getting off on the best start relationally. The truth of the matter is though, Bosa needs to show himself worthy before arrogantly becoming a front page diva. Heading into training camp we will keep you guys updated on what’s to come.

Now During his tenure at Ohio State, Bosa produced 101 solo tackles, 26 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and a touchdown. If his player characteristics were comparable to a player on the professional level, I’d have to say he reminds me of Philadelphia Eagles DE Conner Barwin. His Athletic stature is similar to that of J.J Watt because of his height and upper body strength. Numerous of footage show Bosa jolt offensive lineman out of position and swallowing QB’s for sacks in key situations in contest. At times even, Bosa seems to have enough power to crush the offensive opponent (QB or HB) with simple contact.

When watching film on Bosa there is one thing that is blatantly notable ; he always keeps his legs churning. This means that on plays where the QB may  have survived the elapsed 5 full seconds in the pocket you can see Bosa seemingly come out of nowhere with a crushing blow. For NFL scouts this attribute is of very high value. When NFL administration knows that they have a player dedicated and persistent they are prone to contract that agent immediately. Despite the stirring tension over Bosa missing mini-camp in regards to his rookie, the wisdom of the San Diego Chargers should allow them to discern the fact that a player of his Caliber is worthy of reasonable compensation.
